Historic Wooden Houses in Kansas

High quality wood, when properly treated and installed, can last generations. Here are some Kansas homes that demonstrate the natural material’s durability.

  • Constitution Hall. Built in 1857, Constitution Hall housed the legislative assembly. The clapboard structure is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark. The building was a finalist in the “8 Wonders of Kansas” and demonstrates that wooden construction can last.
