Make a Heart-Shaped Wooden Picture Frame

Need a quick do-it-yourself project to show someone you care on Valentine’s Day? A homemade gift is always well-received, and a heart-shaped wooden picture frame is an easy project to make that has a lot of sentimental value. Here are the materials you will need:

Heart-Shaped Wooden Picture Frame

• 6″ X 6″ X 3/4″ lumber (Tip: It depends on how you finish your frame as to what type of wood to use. If you plan to paint it you can use just about anything. If you are going to stain it red like ours you’ll want to use a light wood like Maple.)
• 1/4″ plywood 4″ X 6″
• 1/4″ dowel, 12″ long

Once you have gathered all your materials and woodworking equipment, follow these steps to put the heart-shaped picture frame together. Finish with a red wood stain as shown, a glass insert, and a picture of you and your loved one.
