Pergola Material Donated for Garden Soiree Benefit
Posted On September 9, 2010
Schutte Lumber Company partnered with Kansas City Homes & Gardens to support this year’s STEMS: A Garden Soiree, a popular annual benefit hosted by the Overland Park Arts & Recreation Foundation. To help KCH&G create the ultimate outdoor living space for the event, Schutte Lumber donated the material for the space-defining pergola constructed of Western red cedar and built by Douglas Homes Construction over a 20-x-20-foot area. Together with other local businesses and community organizations we helped raise $266,000 for the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead. Check out the pergola from last year’s event, and learn how to make your own pergola.

We heard so many positive comments about the pergola. It was a beautiful addition to Stems. Thanks. Teresa Stohs
We were happy to provide the material in support of the Benefit that raised so much to help the Gardens and the Farmstead.
