Remodeling success is something to be celebrated, especially when wood elements take center stage! We recently blogged about the beauty of exposed beams as architectural elements in the home. Here is another example of wood beams at work:
Distressed wood beams put the finishing touch on a recently completed remodeling project by Schloegel Design Remodel in Kansas City. The design-build firm’s carpenters selected knotty pine to construct the beams and then distressed the beams by hand. After the beams were distressed and finished, black paint was rubbed onto the surface to match the engineered hardwood floors and knotty alder cabinetry. The custom-built distressed wood beams were then installed over and around a stacked-stone bar, creating a warm and rustic elegance.
