What Height Should Your Workbench Be?

In our last post, we encouraged you to make a New Year’s resolution to learn something new and learn the basic skills of woodworking. The first think you will want to do if you are to begin woodworking is to establish a proper workbench. To ensure comfort, safety and workability, one of the most important aspects of building your workbench is the height.

According to Woodsmith Tips, most benches have a working surface somewhere between 33″ and 36″ in height, if you are an average height man between 5’9″ and 6’0″.  Measure the distance from the floor to the crease on the inside of your wrist to find the right height for your personal workbench.
