Woodworking World's Highest Honor: Challengers Awards

woodworking eventsThe International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair (IWF) is now taking entries for the 2012 Challengers Distinguished Achievement Awards. Known as the highest honor in the woodworking industry, the Challengers Awards competition takes place every two years to recognize those companies that introduce innovative and game-changing woodworking products including machinery, supplies and services. A recent news report explains the award program.

“The Challengers Awards program, which was inaugurated at 1966 IWF, is designed to encourage companies to develop revolutionary, creative, ingenious, forward-thinking technology, materials, services or safety devices that advance the industry.”

According to this news report, 80 products from 62 have been entered and are being reviewed and analyzed by a panel of judges. Companies who have submitted entries include Biesse America, FS Tool Corporation, Graco Inc., Hafele America Co., and The Sherwin-Williams Company. The 2o finalists will be chosen before the IWF August 22-25 at the Georgia World Congress Center, and the winners will be announced the first day of the show.
