Builders To Petition Congress March 16 To Restore Flow of Credit To Housing Sector
Posted On March 11, 2011
Members of the National Association of Home Builders plan to march on Washington Wednesday, March 16, to petition the new Congress to restore the flow of credit to the housing sector in hopes of spurring economic growth in the industry. It’s the largest grassroots event of the year for the organization, and the NAHB is calling for all members to voice their concerns to their representatives on the federal level to address topics such as:
Support policies to alleviate the acquisition, development and construction (AD&C) credit crisis that continues to jeopardize the livelihoods of countless home builders Preserve current housing tax incentives Develop a framework to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that provides a federal backstop to enable these financial institutions to ensure a stable and adequate supply of credit to the mortgage system
What are your thoughts about the priorities of the NAHB Legislative Conference and the current state of the housing industry? Let us know by leaving a comment.
