There are so many different building materials on the market that it can often be difficult to choose which product is best suited for your needs. Two very common materials are plywood and particle board. Before you choose between the two, you need to understand the advantages and disadvantages to each as well as which types of projects each one is best suited for.

Plywood
Plywood is a material that is extremely strong and easy to use. It can be cut and shaped with basic tools, making it an ideal material for a small job or a tight deadline. However, plywood can be vulnerable to water damage so it is not the best choice for any project that might come in contact with a lot of water

Plywood is used to build cabinets, shelves, tables, and in several other home construction projects.

Particle Board
Particle board is a product that is inexpensive and environmentally friendly.  The problem with particle board is that it retains moisture, so if it is exposed to moisture it will warp and discolor.

Particle board is primary used under floors, but it is also used to make bookcases, dressers, and furniture.
