Wide Plank Flooring is Popular

Usually, glossy interior design magazines save their excitement for color and pattern. But wide plank flooring has been all the buzz lately, from coast to coast. Here is a look at images from notable national interior design publications:

• House Beautiful showed wide plank heart pine flooring in a kitchen by famed designer Mick de Giulio. The floor is stained chocolate and, according to House Beautiful, “conveys a feeling of age and keeps an all-white kitchen from floating away.”

• Architectural Digest reported walnut wide plank flooring in this modern Wisconsin cabin by architect Thomas R. Jones.

• Traditional Home photographed an Atlanta showhouse with 5″ wide walnut flooring. The space, by designer Scott Laslie, has timeless appeal.
