Pick up and Delivery: Do’s and Don’t’s
When it is time to receive your product, Schutte Lumber Company allows you the option of either picking up your product from our lumber yard, or scheduling a delivery to a commercial or residential location in the greater Kansas City Metro area. Here is guide of what services we offer and what one can expect when receiving product from Schutte Lumber Company.
Pick up:
When visiting Schutte Lumber to pick up your product, visit either the showroom or the sales office to pick up the required paperwork and finalize payments. A team member will then direct your car to the stop sign before you enter the lumberyard. It is important to remain parked at the stop sign and to not drive further into the yard until a team member comes to assist you. There is a sensory plate that notifies employees that there is a customer waiting for pick up when one is stopped at the stop sign. Once a team member has come to greet you, they will lead you, in your vehicle, to where the product is in the lumber yard and assist you in loading your vehicle per safety standards. There is a tie-down station located near the front gate with complementary twine and red flags for oversized materials.
During the summer, pick-up hours are from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. During the winter, hours are shortened to 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, but remain the same on Saturdays. The lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. is often our busiest time of day, so plan accordingly when scheduling time to pick up your product.
Delivery:
Schutte Lumber Company delivers to both commercial and residential locations within the greater Kansas City Metro Area. Delivery charges may apply to certain orders. It is important to communicate what kind of area you are requesting delivery to so we can send the proper vehicle. Our drivers need to know if the street is narrow or if there are overhead trees or lines that might interfere with a tall vehicle making the delivery.
It is important to remember that different products have different lead times. Products that are uncommon or involve mill work will have a longer processing time than regularly stocked products. Some of the delay is also due to vendor availability. We will work with you to keep you informed of any delays in regards to your product and strive to make sure your product is available in a timely manner.
