Wainscoting Graces Fine Homes
Posted On June 18, 2012
Wainscoting, or wainscot paneling as they call it in England, is a series of narrow boards that line the lower portion of a wall. It is common now to see wainscoting on the upper portions of walls and ceilings as well. What you may have associated with a cottage is now found absolutely everywhere, especially in national interior design magazines. Let’s take a look:
- Traditional Home showed the creative use of wainscoting in the bedroom of a Nantucket Summer house, decorated by interior designer Nancy Serafini.
- House Beautiful celebrated the three-quarters-high wainscoting of a Southampton, NY home by designer Marshall Watson.
