Wooden Furniture Rules High Point Market
Posted On June 29, 2012
The High Point Furniture Market attracts interior designers and furniture retailers from around the world. At the recent spring show, wooden pieces took the show by storm. Here is a re-cap of some of High Point’s finest wooden offerings.
- Mahogany. Baker Furniture had exquisite mahogany and mahogany veneer options by Thomas Pheasant. The designer’s Radiant Center Table has four sculptural legs, shaped to complement the curve of the top. The wooden legs are tapered not only from side to side but also on both the inside and the outside.
- Wooden legs. TRS Furniture showed comfortable seating options with a variety of hand-crafted solid wood legs. This provincial-style bench, shown in a walnut finish, features turned stretchers and cabriole legs.
- Distressed. Henredon‘s distressed Orleans Dining table has South American mahogany solids, and a cherry veneer. Families with children often prefer distressed dining tables because new dints and dings don’t stick out like a sore thumb.
