Schutte Lumber supported Kansas City’s annual Christmas in October event again this year, providing lumber at-cost to assist thousands of volunteers in helping those in need of basic home repairs, maintenance, and improvement. Founded in 1984, Christmas in October benefits more than 500 area homes for an estimated economic impact of $2.4 million. Christmas in October is reported to be the largest volunteer event of its type in the nation. Services are provided for free, and the non-profit organization depends on donations to fund its efforts. Schutte Lumber along with other local businesses provide vital materials to help with the home improvement projects and are proud to partner with such a great cause.
