The Anatomy of Fine Outdoor Living

We may still be in the thick of winter, but that doesn’t keep us from dreaming about entertaining outdoors in a few short weeks. And we won’t have to look too far for inspiration.

Last summer, we partnered with Kansas City Homes & Gardens and the Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park to showcase the best available products and trends in outdoor living. Schutte, KCH&G and Douglas Homes Construction, among others, donated materials for their second-annual fundraiser to benefit Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.

The event, called Stems: A Garden Soiree, showcased a stunning 16-foot-by-16-foot living space, with a sturdy cedar frame and overhead beams defining the space and lending it a “strong architectural presence.”

Though beautiful, detailed design like this is achieved through a collaboration with several vendors, this scene has set a new standard. We are thrilled to be an initial step in helping homeowners make their outdoor landscapes as luxurious and comfortable as the ones inside!
