Being Seen as Eco-Friendly Critical to Recovery

We recently came across an article in The Globe and Mail about the Canadian forestry industry sector, and how they are racing to improve their environmental practices in order to meet the need by a growing number of corporations to provide eco-friendly products, when available.

The move comes on the heels of conglomerates like Scholastic, a U.S. book publisher, determining that 65 percent of its print run for the newest Harry Potter installment would come from forests managed in a socially and environmentally responsible way.

This attentiveness to sustainability is only an glimpse of what’s to come, and a trend we suspect is here to stay. Schutte Lumber is proud to carry the stamp of FSC-certified woods, so you can be sure your lumber comes from sustainably  harvested forests.

Read on for more on how the forestry sector is seeing Green as the Color of Hope.
