Christmas in October Kansas City Volunteer Day Oct. 8
For the 27th year in a row, Christmas in October will be holding its annual Volunteer Day this Saturday, October 8th. As the leading volunteer organization in house rehabilitation for low-income homeowners in Kansas City, Christmas in October will gather together thousands of locals, as in previous years, to help rehabilitate, weatherize and paint hundreds of houses around the city.
The home improvement efforts and renovations that the Christmas in October volunteers provide would typically cost the homeowner between $1,200 to over $4,500, a sum they simply can’t afford. This year, teams of volunteers will work on 70 to 75 in the Quindaro community. If you’d like to join the community and donate your time and painting, electrical, carpentry and/or other building skills, visit the Christmas in October website to find out how to register. For questions about how you can support this great cause, contact the organization at 816-531-6443 or info@christmasinoctober.org.
Schutte Lumber will also be holding an event we’re calling “Tool Belt Ball” to benefit Christmas in October on November 12th. Mark your calendars, and the details will be coming soon.
