Tips to Keep Your Project Organized in Your Workshop
Posted On February 27, 2014
When you have several projects going on at the same time, it can be a challenge to stay organized in your workshop. The following workshop-related tips and ideas will keep you on track, help you stay productive, and ensure you finish your projects by their deadlines.
-
Create a calendar. Dedicate one wall of your workshop to a paper calendar where you can note the goals for your projects.
- Examine your tools. There is nothing worse than going to use a saw and finding it blunt. Check drill bits, router bits, and blades regularly to ensure nothing needs replacing.
- Order supplies. Refer back to your calendar in order to plan what you need to order. Consider even the smallest items such as screws, nails, and glue.
- Empty the trash. As soon as the trash bag is full, take it out of your workshop to give yourself more room.
- Clean and simplify. As your projects change, you may find you need a different setup in your workshop. Simplify often and use the opportunity to clear the shop of any accumulated junk.
